I bought a claw foot tub for a customer for 8,000 acouple years ago. I guess plumbing supplys would be my biggest amount of money I have spent. Owning a business would be different though I guess. I had an account that was over 150,000 before.

I don't spend a lot of money on things I think will become a waste. So I don't have an answer.
But I have lots of spendy things that aren't a waste of money. Cars, furniture, clothes, student loans, kids (that would probably top the list lol), etc.

If I buy an expensive item I generally don't consider it to be a waste of money. After my car, the most expensive thing I've bought is my laptop. I have around $1500 worth of camera equipment but again, not a waste of money. I've spent over 10K on my model horse collection and a lot of people would consider that to be a waste of money. :p I have one model that I paid $300 for which really wasn't worth it. But it was a see-through pegasus...I couldn't resist. :ninja

I wasn't talking about hobbies being a waste of money. I said a lot of people would consider my model horses to be a waste, probably because they're not interested in that sort of thing. Obviously I think those people are wrong and I used the :p smiley for a reason. I like my ponehs. :D

I think, the most expensive item that other's would think to be a waste of money were my first pair of New Rock Boots which at that time cost me 250€. But in my opinion, they totally were worth it.

Biggest waste of money

Smith 629
Glock 23C

As the story goes, up until my late 30's, I never owned a TV,bed or furniture (other than a folding chair LOL) and the most expensive items I owned in my immediate possession were kayaks and snowboards.

Biggest return on investment I ever made was the 6k I spent on a lawn mower.

The most expensive thing that I bought that I now consider a waste of money....hmm...

Probably a fancy yellow yellow rolling bag I bought as a gift for myself when I graduated college. It was over $200. I planned to use it as my teacher bag to take things to and from school. But then I never used it because it was so pretty and I was afraid I would mess it up. Haha. It is still in my closet in the bag I bought it home in. I NEVER spend that much for anything except the obvious things and electronics.

Biggest waste of money are items that I rarely use, and I could count that how many items I bought many times over on my fingers, though I might lose count quarter way through
