Does he not drive? Surely he can find other modes of transport for the time you're away. It's nice he says he is going to miss you both though. A month is quite a long time with a 3 year old.

No he doesn't' drive anymore. And yes it is. But then on the other hand 8 years away from home and only little visits is a long time too.
True. It's a tough one. I'd hope if I moved away from home for someone then they'd appreciate my need to go and visit my family from time to time, maybe not often but for longer periods when I did go. Your mum will miss Liam getting big.
