I learned a long time ago I am a sponge. The more obscure and worthless a piece of information the more likely it is to hang around in the cobwebs of my mind. My wife will ask a question and I will pop-off an answer and her response often is, "Where did you learn that?" I have to admit way too often I don't remember.

Yesterday we were watching "The Big Bang Theory" and someone said "Namaste"
She looked at me and I told her I thought that was a greeting or salutation used in parts of India.

She was not satisfied until I looked it up on-line.

I'm like that in a way, storing bits of information that may come in use one day. It comes in handy sometimes.

Not so much with information like that but numbers have always stuck with me. Old phone numbers, amounts paid for things and I can usually tell a clerk what the total bill is while they are still pushing buttons. It drives the Amish nuts and they whip out their tablets and do it long math. One told me I must have some Satan in me.

I love numbers too. I think minutia is why I loved history so much as a kid.

I was a book freak in elementary and junior high school. Then I discovered girls and cars. Still read a lot of books and magazines.............LOL

My friend in college he was your classic nerd but he was really nice and was a lot of fun
He made straight A's in college and he studied all the time.
He told me I was the human sponge
he said what it meant to him is that everything I see and hear is thoroughly collected and that he was jealous
I didn't have to study to make the same grades he did.
He also said that my methods were unorthodox but yet worked damn well
made me feel good
I let him know I was a talent that came with great social issues so to not wish he was like me
