midsummer racism row

midsummer racism row

into the deep end is Brian true-may,
he's been suspended, but what did he say.
part of the appeal is absence of ethnic minority,
now ITV have taken action, he's suspended by the authorities.
this 14 series is now in turmoil,
because its now not representing whats on the UK soil.
things have changed, no one can Deni,
but is this low racial mix a lie.
this country has gone PC mad,
and its now got to the point of being sad.
if the midsummer row is prov-en racist, so help me god,
because watching life with out history, is surely odd.

(this drama was said to have racism in because of the lack of the mix of people, what i was trying to point out is the time it is portraying and the area there is a less of a mix of people - or have i got this one wrong ?)

hi sadie - missiing our chats lol

To be honest what he's said I think will always be condemned, however his logic is right, little villages/hamlets like Midsomer are like that, all white population so I don't think portraying it like that is wrong so to speak. But with the way the Country is, it's always going to be criticised.

I don't know if there'd be any problem if it were the reverse. Like Springsteen said, the logic is right, places like those little villages do tend to be people of a certain class and race. It's not exactly inaccurate. Would anyone be complaining if a program about a predominantly black or asian area didn't include many or any white people? It'd just be 'cultural' and that'd be that.
