He really is. His other thread turned south so I'm starting another.

As a kid he was bullied for lots of reasons, didn't have a happy home life, but found his niche during his teens. Kudos and more.

He makes me so proud I could cry. And I'm just as proud of the US gymnastic girls. Nastia and Shawn were amazing.

When he first made the Olympic team back in 2000 one of those bullies came up to congratulate him. Phelps pretended like he didn't remember the guy.

We were talking about this at work the other day. Apparently his mother called him out on it afterwards and he told his mom that he wasn't going to give the guy the satisfaction b/c he made his life a living hell throughout school. Good for him!!!
