Good morning everybody. It's very......wet over here on the east coast of Canada, to say the least, and if you can imagine lakes and rivers where streets and highways used to be, you can imagine our reality. A lot of people here have been left homeless, some have had so much damage done to their homes that it would be more economically sound to think about rebuilding. Most people find it a difficult task merely deciding where to begin, but where to begin again is almost an impossible one..especially this time of year. I watched one home being swept away by water damage....now you may find this petty, I don't know, but watching furniture and clothing drifting off to who knows where wasn't half as heartbreaking as watching a partially decorated Christmas tree and soaking wet Christmas presents close behind. There are always people around to help but it's still hard to imagine little children spending Christmas morning in a shelter.
I type this to you with tears in my eyes, I'm not sure if it's because I'm thinking of those less fortunate than I or if it's just guilt because I'm one of the lucky ones who just happens to live on a hill where the damage is a whole lot less...perhaps it's a little of both. In any case........
I'm not sharing this with you to in any way bring you down, it's just that, well, sometimes it helps to hear what other people have to endure in order for us to appreciate what we have. I hope you all have a fabulous holiday spent with family and friends and when you're sitting around the table enjoying your Christmas dinner, as I myself plan on doing, give thanks for all you have and send some prayers and good vibes around the rest of the world to those in need. Merry Christmas everybody! xxxxx
