You could always take the Odie-like to a doggy day care if the Mrs. is really set on wanting one. Make her pay of course. :D
Um..... no to a dog babysitter. That would be the day. Besides that the bloody dog would cost 1/2 of my new lens and wouldn't live as long. I've already given up on my favorite pet ( birds ) for Mrs.Guyzerr and I'm not gunna sacrifice again especially for some peanut dog thingy. If I ever got a dog it would either be a Black or Golden Lab.

Perhaps you could scout the local dog shelters and find an Odie-like there to adopt. Way cheaper and you'd be doing a great thing at the same time. Plus you might even find a black or golden Lab while you're at it. One never knows.

I found my wonderful dog at a shelter. Best dog ever. :)

Don't feel sorry for Odie. I'm sure he's gunna get a new humpy stuffy and he'll get lots of use out of it even though he's lost his nuts.

Ewwww.... :cool

..... my dog is female. None of that nonsense going on here. She's getting a new pad for her bed and several snack bones... recommended by her Vet of course.

This time I'm leaving the bows off the bones. She does so enjoy a good bow.... not recommended by her Vet of course. :ninja

It's not the cost that bothers me. 7 or 8 hundred bucks is no big deal. We've got all our cats at the SPCA and I would have no problem getting a dog from them, matter of fact I would prefer it but I just don't want to leave a dog at home by it's lonesome. I don't approve of that. Cats yes... dogs no.

Dogs from a shelter are around $400.00 by the time all the dust settles btw.

Around here.... it's $125. All the dogs are neutered/spayed and all shots/heartworm checked/treated if needed, etc. are included. They do a background check on you and you have to give a Veterinarian as a reference. They want to make sure you are employed and able to afford a pet... and that when you had a pet previously you took it to a Vet for all the necessary things.

Must be the Canadian Exchange thing on the money difference, eh? :cool

Beats me why so much. We get all the same checks and balances. At least with the cats we did.
