Queen frontman Freddie Mercury has been voted the "Ultimate Rock God" by music fans.

The singer, who died of an Aids-related illness in 1991, came out on top of the survey, which was conducted by onepoll.com.

Around 4,000 people were questioned, with Elvis Presley and Jon Bon Jovi completing the Top 3.

The full Top 10 is as follows:

the front man of a band thats been selling out stadiums for over 25 years.....a man whos bands album 'slippery when wet' is one of the biggest selling albums of all time

the only ones who lived any sort of rockstar life there are ozzy, hendrix, slash and jagger.

only hendrix deserves to be there from a musical standpoint

morrison is king of rockstars and always will be. Voice, poet, alcohol, heroin. he;s the man.
