Long time no speak
As most of you know, I haven't been very involved in the last year. 2024 was not a good year for me personally with a lot going on. This also resulted in me shutting down some of my projects, selling other websites, and disconnecting a lot from the online world. However, when it came to Off Topicz, I had to keep the site online. I could not in good conscious close it. Some of you really have a connection to what this site once was, and I have a passion for this community.
With that said, with everything else going on, my other commitments and projects, I realized I’m not the best person to guide the forum’s day-to-day operations right now. So I searched for someone who had the knowledge and experience to do so. Therefore, I have some exciting news to share! As part of my mission to revive and grow Off Topicz I'm bringing in a new Community Manager to help breathe fresh life into the forum. Please give a warm welcome to @Nomad !
He posted a quick introduction thread, so feel free to welcome him, and of course, pester him with all your questions
What Does This Mean for Off Topicz?
With a rich history spanning almost 20 years, Off Topicz has been home to incredible discussions, friendships, and offbeat conversations. We know things have been quiet for a while, but we’re committed to bringing the forum back to life—and Nomad is here to help make that happen!
What Will Nomad Be Doing?
He will take over day to day operations of the forum.

Running events, contests, and discussions
Bringing in new members and reconnecting with old ones
Ensuring a friendly and fun environment for everyone
So What's Happening With Me?
I'll still be here. Can't get rid of me that easily This change isn’t about me stepping away—it’s about making sure Off Topicz doesn’t stay in a dormant state. With Nomad helping to revive and grow the forum, I’m excited to see what’s next for the community! I’ll still handle the technical side of things—making sure the forum runs smoothly, fixing bugs, and introducing new features when needed. Other than that, I'll still be popping in for discussions and events.'

I also want to take a moment to specifically thank @AUFred for continuing to come on the forums to clean up the spam that comes through. There may not have been a lot going on in the forums, but it's because of him that the forums aren't filled with spam posts. In the past year, he cleaned 9,140 users who where either bots, spam accounts, or spam posts. Quite a few was caught in our detection, but not all of them.
