Im sure you guys have heard that marijuana appeares to be effective in treating pain, nausea and severe weight loss associated with AIDS.
So on that note, what are yalls opinions? Should it ever be made legal for medical uses?

Absolutely. Drugs with a far greater impact on the individual and society, when misused, are administered readily for pain relief. Surely one that has minimal impact in the same context, and is not riddled with chemicals, should be available for medical use?

Yes it should be legal for both medical and recreational use. It's hypocritical to keep in banned when alcohol, the cause of so much crime and ill health is legal. Too much money is being wasted prosecuting and imprisoning people because of this drug. It's so widely available anyway that it might as well be legal. The goverment also could gain more money in taxing it rather than letting all the profits go to gangsters who control the importation of this drug.

After seeing my mother in-law going through chemo and radiation when she had her breast cancer, I say yes I am all for it. If there is anything that can help people when they are that sick feel better, I cant understand why anybody wouldnt want to try to make it possible for them whatever it took to make it happen for them.

It should be legal anyway. if the government regulated it, they could put drug dealers out of business, while making a hefty profit. They just voted to legalize small amounts of weed in Nevada, but that got shot down. It will eventually be leagalized in my opinon however. Besides, how could anyone hate such a great plant? I'm actually meaking a trip up to British columbia this spring break anyhow. We are gonna basically live at some pool halls/bars that my friend knows the owner of. Whats the legal drinking age in Canada anyhow?

On a side note: How many people here have smoked weed?

Of course it should be legal. Alot of ill-informed scare-tactic advocates say that Marijuana is a gateway drug to heoin and coke. Ha, I say. I know lots of people who use it to relax or for medical reasons. They don;t do other drugs. They might drink beer also, but I have yet to hear one person, that I know, say, "Oh man, stupid weed! Now I'm hooked on LSD in the daytime, Heroin at Night and Cocaine in the morning. If only I hadn't taken that first puff off the Magic Dragon!" :yuk

People say it's a gateway drug, but that's only to shift the blame off themselves for making a bad decision. It's also a scare tactic as Charmer said. It's always your choice whether or not to do drugs. It's not like marijuana makes you think "gee, you know what would be awesome right now? Columbian Black tar heroin!" Even if you are pressured into a situation to do other, harder drugs, JUST SAY NO and stop hanging out with those people. Get over blaming society and others for your own short comings, pussy. I just cannot get over people who preach that marijuana is so terrible, when they themselves have never done or been anywhere near it. They see some biased test results, and decide it will be their mission to save everyone else. What if some of us don't want to be saved? Go to hell with your totally biased "facts" and leave me alone I say.

YES...it should...I didnt even read a reply b4 I typed this.....If it grows and helps....... smoke it....if you have to make it chemically in a bucket dont...why do people see this as fucked up...Its a lant...and so is coke....those are the only 2 naturals besides shrooms....I have a hard time fighting against weed when demorol os a pain reliever....demoral will fuck you up way more than THC.....yet when you have a surgery demerol is the perscription......In a case like cancer....where a patient cant eat, and is losing wieght uncontrollably, smokes a couple Joints and grubs down...splain that...then splain why a all natural plant isnt leagal.

In my one herbal bible (it's out of print, or just impossible to get a hold of), it lists all the things all the herbs are good for. Thyme has three paragraphs, comfrey half a page, rosemary a paragraph, and marijuana four pages. It speaks for itself.
