I don't want fair and balanced. I want the truth. And if I can get it from left or right that would be great.

Then do what a lot of us are doing already... Turn off the TV and get your news from the internet.

Here's why the internet is 1000 times better than tv.
1. It's instant news, you can watch it while it happens
2. TV is very one sided, you don't have the ability to check facts on the fly
3. If you read something on the internet that you question, within a few seconds you can have all the sources
4. Limited channels during limited hours vs thousands of websites 24/7


Here's what I do... I have the main news feeds on my homepage like Google News, Pulse and Reuters. And i also have a good mix of Indie news sites to catch the stories ignored by big news. When I find a story that interests me I read it. I don't consider it gospel and don't just stop there, I do a quick search on that story and see the opposing views and check the facts. It isn't hard to do and it doesn't take long.
If you look at the latest polls, more and more Americans are doing this. As a matter of fact, I believe that in 20 years you won't find any news on television and all your news will be from the internet. With this change you will have less sheeple in the country because the media won't be controlled by the few, our media will once again be diversified.
