I've had my mattress since 2007 and it has never given any problems until this past week. I wake up and my back feels all out of whack and I feel squished down, like everything is compressed. It's a Serta pillowtop and I've always loved it so this makes me sad. I do wonder if my having started P90X has anything to do with it.

What kind of mattress do you have? Anyone have a Tempurpedic? (I've slept on one once, and it was heaven!)

I have an oooold shitty mattress. But we bought a memory-foam mattress pad for it, and it's pretty amazing. I highly recommend. And it wasn't that expensive either.

I might have to look into that.

I do think some of it might be since it's a pillow top. If I sleep on my side, I have a hard time shifting since I'm sunk in.

My matress at home is too soft for my liking.

My matress at uni is just right, like a rock with lots of sharp springs digging into my spine :D

I'm almost afraid to mention it for fear of jinxing it ;) but we have a Nautilus sleep system bed. We've had it since about 2000 and it is the best freaking bed ever.

Better than the Select Comfort because it has no divider inside. Each air cushion sits side by side instead. Much more comfy.

It is some of the best money we've ever spent. Sadly, they don't sell them any longer. But you can get replacement parts if needed (kwx3!)

I have an orthopaedic mattress which I bought years ago. I could get them in hard/soft and chose the hard - but it was still easily the most comfy mattress I'd ever used. As per the others, highly recommend getting s similar mattress or new bed if you can.

I spin it, but I can't flip it because of the pillow top. Although I've considered it.

I actually had one once in an apartment with months listed on the top left corner each way you looked at it. Told you which way went up when you spun or flipped.

I have a Stearns and Foster pillowtop, it's nice, but it's time to replace it, I've had it since like 2003.

we have a euro top, i like them better than the pillow tops. but ours is shitt, its not even 3 yrs old yet and its horribly sunk in on the sides we sleep on with a big bump in the middle where there's hardly any sleepage. its the name brand that sucks. we thought it was the same one we had before Ike, which was pure heaven, but its obviously not. and we're not big people, me being 125 and hubby being MAYBE 140. so a mattress being nearly 3 yrs old should not be what it is now (it started about year after we got it)
