From what I can tell and what I know of men. And I am speaking in generalities here. A man views women like this: "A relationship is only as good as his next option" meaning a man will be more prone to stray in the face of a "better" woman. Even though that woman may not necessarily be better considering that a man views them simply on looks makes that viewpoint skewed.

That being said, there is a comfort level that brings forth confidence in a man that comes with being Married and chatting up other women. The real reason they are talking to you is for sex, whether that sex be physical or mental sex (meaning for their personal "spank bank") it is still for sex. The comfort comes in because if they cannot close the deal with us, then they have their back up plan at home waiting for them.
