It depends on what you're cooking, and what you're marinating in!
Can be anything from 10 mins to 3 or 4 hours!

I usually let it marinate over night. I am talking about steaks and such, but it doesn't matter. In the fridge of course.

I usually marinate meat like chicken and beef for about 2-3 hours, or overnight depending on the dish I am preparing to make. What's cool about chicken is that you can marinate it, put it in ziploc bags and freeze them for almost a month in the freezer. When you decided to use the chicken...the chicken will be marinated to the bone.:)
