Lost at sea...

Yes this is truly very sad. We now have one additional EXTREMIST group in the world to contend with.
Why didn't the link you posted say yes 100% that man is causing this world ending catastrophe.
I don't know how old most of you are but there has been at least 1 huge political scare per decade since I can remember.
The world Communism scare was a real doozy, before it was over I truly feared for my life every day for a year. I just hope that this charade doesn't waste as much money or as many patriotic lives. No one to blame except our govt. and the people that swallow their lies.

I truly wish the polar bears well. I just hope they don't get hurt because the sky is falling.

It's sad.

And yet there are those that say global warming is a farce, there is nothing to worry about, it is being exaggerated, and other similar statements made by not only commentators but also politicians. Not so? Weren't they saying Al Gore was exaggerating and trying to undermine his efforts?

did you know that polar bears are actually black?

Yes its why they aren't allowed down south :cool

No one denies the warming, just that its solely man-made. The planet has gone through cycles of warming and cooling since its creation. It will continue to do so no matter what we do.

The Milokavitch cycles I believe they are called.

Every hundreds of thousands of years the orbit of the earth brings it closer or further away from the sun, but even that is not enough to bring about an ice age.

Accepting that it is not only man-made, that it is also part of environmental cycles, wouldn't it make sense to address that which we can?...Which is what we ourselves contribute to the problem by way of industrial and domestic pollution, saving energy etc?

Wouldn't that help toward making some difference curbing the extent of it rather than not addressing. How then can you say "no matter what we do"? Isn't that tantamount to saying it will happen anyway so just ignore it?

Well we should all try to be less wasteful and conserve resources, that makes sense. I just don't buy into the "sky is falling and its all our fault" crap that hypocrites like Al Gore spew.

Well, it is the creating of the awareness of the problem and acknowledging that we contribute to the problem...and also what we can do to curb the problem that often makes the difference.

Before Al Gore brought it to the fore I am sure most lay people didn't recognize or appreciate the issue of global warming. You know how easy it is for us to ignore things until it affects us directly or brought to the fore. I know I didn't appreciate it before he did and most everyone I knew didn't appreciate the problem until afterwards either. And most likely there were many others in the same boat too. Would you agree on that?

Al Gore should live green, in a cave somewhere. His home in TN uses 20 times the national average of electricity for a residence in the US, but he wants to preach to everyone else about what they need to do. Talk the talk all day for all I care, so long as you walk the walk. He does not.
