Losing friends and family over time

I lost a friend to the Pentecosts. It seemed like when she joined the church she checked her brain at the door and was given a pair of blinders instead. But hey, she's sober now and that was sorely needed. So, I'm glad she's found something that works for her. But my Pagan leanings made it impossible for her to continue her friendship w/me. Again, at least she's happy so it's all good.

People come and go. Time has a way of showing true colours. It is what it is.

Speaking of FB friends, it is indeed a 'popularity' contest w/the younger set (PBBB's age at least) how many 'friends' one has. Whether they are real friends or not. Whatever. lol

I have never seen my grand children other than on a computer and my entire family lives in 2 other countries...not easy and it was a big price to pay for my own happiness.Still trying to cope with all this.

Ahhh..NO ...this is the kind of banning I did to myself...The name comes from what came first into my head after for the third time I got banned from other forums,although this might be also what I did to myself HaHa !! So I thought lets warn everyone...

Allen.... Alien...frog type person. You may be a cold hearted prick But if any of those people were actually considered friends they would still be around despite the fact.


When i lived in Sydney I had a tonne of friends i was surrounded by so many people who i thought loved me for who i actually was and i thought life couldnt get any better.

In one foul swoop all of these so called friends turned on my quicker than you can imagine none of them stuck by me when i really needed them and i moved away ( sure i ran away who cares) the point is i have a very select few people in my life who are willing to accept me for the loudmouthed and at most times brutally nasty person and they love me for it.

You saying you dont have any people around you just means you havent found the right people to surround yourself with

I had a best friend from the 8th grade that I no longer see or hear from. I moved 50 miles away and visited with her several times afterward. I invited her up over and over again. She always made up excuses not to drive that far. I seemed to always call her first all the time. The very last time I called her, she told me that she had gotten married again. She said it was a small wedding and that she only invited her friends. :eek

I mean.... What the hell was I then?

I never called her again. She hasn't called me. It's been years now. That really hurt at first. Now I look back and see how I was used by her.

Oh well. I've got new friends now.

But hey, you could have become a burden to anyone at any age.. So why worry about it now more than any other time..

Well NoDak, you can look at a glass 1/2 empty the rest of your life, you are more than welcome.

I prefer to look at it 1/2 full with a lot to offer and listening works both ways.
