Well, the cool thing is that if we can find this word, you can begin using it on a regular basis. Its meaning is something like 'The art of saying something without saying it.' In other words, the practice of revealing things that you are not supposed to reveal by using clever wording. Basically I guess implying something without being rightfully held responsible. Let me see if I can think up a really good example and I'll edit it in.

But if you think you might know of the word... I believe it begins with the letter 'A'. I dont have a dictionary handy so Im trying to get help on finding this word again... :dunno

Bullshit comes to mind... it kinda works for all the examples you gave.

Now let me go look for the real answer... damn I hate riddles that I don't know the answer to. I'll just go ask a politician, they would know the answer...

He said he believes it starts with the letter A. I was trying to lay out a few words that fit into some of the meanings he mentioned. Maybe jar something loose.

Wow, I was about to think of a really good example, and here you guys already (probably) for the correct answer. I'll try to confirm but I think this could be it. How many A words can there be with such a meaning?

I kinda KNEW someone in this crowd would make quick work of this. :) This is a great crowd... Im glad I stumbled onto this site. :)

ahh here it is:

al·lu·sion
n.
The act of alluding; indirect reference: Without naming names, the candidate criticized the national leaders by allusion.

I think thats it gang!
Now lets all practice this devious art (act:p) in our daily lives and we'll have become TRUE masters of our language... for in no better way can someone skillfully critique someone in a negative light than to do so in a way that he himself does not realize or cannot penalise
