What really started the riot was a bunch of thugs. The cop shooting the kid was just an excuse.

This is what bothered me about when it first happened - everyone knew it had happened, no one seemed to be saying why exactly.

It sounded like he was part of something bad that involved his cousin getting shot, the police were closing in on him, he was carrying a weapon about because he was paranoid since his cousin died, and it ended with gunfire.

The thing is, people are making a thing about him perhaps not firing first or at all, but if you wave a gun at a police officer I'm pretty sure they're allowed to shoot you whether you actually pull the trigger or not, since you present a threat.

But then as has been said - that was really all just an excuse that rippled outwards for people to riot - there's only a small minority of rioters who probably even knew the guy.

If you wave a gun at an officer on this side of the pond there's a very high probability you're gunna be dead regardless if you pull the trigger or not.

Does it really matter if a person knew the dead thug or not? I'm thinkin' it doesn't except it would give a person more of an excuse to riot.

The trigger was thugs that think they are above the law and can do what ever the hell they want. They proved absolutely nothing by looting and burning innocent hard working individuals property other than to show the world exactly who they are. Regular hard working people have no sympathy for someone that does what they did and to say it was because of the thug that got shot is nothing more than an excuse.

As far as I'm concerned they should all be sent to some fucking deserted island with nothing more than the cloths on their backs... ... and one box of matches and one pocket knife between them so they have an excuse to kill each other. Fuck 'em!

Not when the kids are on beans on toast and microwaved food all the time, so that the parents can piss it up all the time. I am not talking every so often. I am talking nearly daily. The money isn't for parents to squander on themselves all the time. It is for hosuehold and bringing up the kids.

What I fail to understand is why people try and find a reason why it happened. Everyone knows why it happened. It happened because a bunch of uneducated thugs without as much as 1goal in life were looking for a reason to blow off some steam prior to receiving their next benefit cheque.
