MOTUEKA HIGH SCHOOL - BOYS AND GIRLS UNIFORM
JACKET A black, monogrammed, school jacket is available through the school office.
POLAR FLEECE Plain, black polar fleece, with school crest.
JERSEY Navy blue, V-necked jersey with school crest.
SHOES Plain, black shoes with black laces. No boots or high heels. Socks must be worn with shoes.
SCARF (Optional) Black and gold. Black, polar fleece scarf also available.
HATS Plain, black visor or cap or plain, black sunhat. Girls may wear a Panama hat, available from the
clothing mart. Hats are not to be worn in classrooms but students are strongly advised to wear
them when outside.
GIRLS
SHIRT Regulation, white, polo shirt with black and gold trim on collar, or a plain, white cotton blouse
with a straight hem.
SKIRT Grey, checked and pleated skirt to be worn knee length. Available from Astrolabe.
SOCKS/TIGHTS White socks or black tights.
TROUSERS Mid-grey, regulation long trousers (optional).
SANDALS Plain brown or black sandals. Sandals must be substantial, have a back strap and be worn
without socks. (Check if in doubt.)
VEST (Optional) V-necked, monogrammed, black vest. Available from Astrolabe.
BOYS
SHIRT Regulation dark blue polo shirt with gold trim on collar.
SHORTS Mid-grey terylene/wool.
BELT Black leather - approx. 3 cm wide.
SOCKS Grey with black and gold tops worn to under the knee.
TROUSERS Mid-grey, regulation long trousers (optional).
SANDALS Plain brown or black sandals. Sandals must be substantial, have a back strap and be worn

WALKING OUT
May be worn for school trips and on other special occasions:-
BOYS Trousers: Mid Grey
Shirt: White. Good quality
Blazer: Regulation blazer with MHS monogram
Crest: For blazer pocket
Shoes: Black leather
Socks: Grey
Tie: Gold and black striped school tie
Vest: (Optional) V-necked, monogrammed black vest.
GIRLS As for boys walking out uniform, but regulation skirt and plain black tights.
YEAR 13 STUDENTS
May wear uniform or mufti. Students in mufti must wear suitable footwear and must also wear clothing that meets
the Dress Code for Year 13 students.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM
All students must change for Physical Education into suitable Phys Ed. clothing. This includes a change of shirt,
shorts and socks. No skirts, dresses or denim permitted.
GENERAL
1. While students are in uniform facial hair (beards, moustaches etc) is not permitted.
2. Undergarments (T-shirts, boxers etc) worn under regulation clothing must not be visible.
3. All students are required to wear full school uniform until the end of year 12
4. No visible body piercing other than small sleepers or small, flush earrings in the ears (2max)
5. No jewellery other than a watch or medic alert bracelet.
6. If a taonga or a cross is worn it must be worn inside clothing and not be visible.
