i decided id go out n try some painting with light.. this is a long exposur eont he camera and filling in the detail of a subject with a torch... here are the results of some grave stones.

basically i have an project wich is environmental.. so anything in the environment. since ive never tried painting with light before i decided a grave yard was as good a place as any to start.. i like the effect

Thanks for the explanation.

Was that done at night then with a flashlight?

As I said the pics were very good.

yea long exposure.. i used my flash for a base light then went over some of the detail with an LED torch.. or the light on my phone

well that is a great pic too :thumbup

I think photography is going to get into stuff that was beyond imagination even a little as 5 years ago.

With the digital age there is no limit.

It gives me a great appreciation though of the traditional photographers. With digital one can test and tweak and it costs next to nothing. For the analog old school folks it would cost a lot to determine what works or not.

this technique has been done for years on film..im considering trying it on transparency...

this one was a little experiment.. effect is good but i missed out the top left corner with my torch DOH!

for this 1 i set my white balance to tungsten.. which adds blue to the image to equal out the orangeness of tungsten light. however if you then use a light that is not orange such as flash, daylight or my LED torch.. it shows up blue..

TA DA!
