Some of the older members on here please tell me something. When you reach a certain age when do you start looking back on the best parts of your life ? I spose when your kids are grown up and you miss them when they were young. People always say "that was the best part of my life." I just don't understand it yet. Maybe because I am young. Maybe because I put to much thought into it. That is besdies the point. Tell me when was the best time of your life.

Who the hell wants to think the best part of your life isn't around the corner. I've had some great times in my life and I am looking forward to having some more great times. If you think your best times in life are all gone sh*t go put yourself on a icefloat.........LMAO

I found that moment when I went back to school (college) and talked to the young underclassmen. they didn't realize how fast a day went. yesterday I was at school talking with a professor and one of the students who I had lunch with on almost a daily basis came up to me and said..."dudeeeeeee...you were so right about how fast time flies!!! I had a job this summer and I had nearly no time to for myself...
I smiled and said...see?

I agree with you I think it is sad for older people.

I've had an interesting life, but I'd like to think that the best has yet to come.

(I'm not an older member, but that's my insight.)

I think my parents generation (my mother is 78) has a lot of regrets, some never got to pursue dreams (personal or otherwise ) and are a little jealous of this new generation and their communications (no one is ever out of touch with cell phones, facebook, email and the like)

i think if you are dieing you can think that way and think back to what was the best part of your life, but for healthy people i'd say everyday is a new day and you never know if the next one might be better than the rest.

As you age and things creak or ache that didn't when you were younger then you miss being pain-free. I had a lot of fun when I was really young. I loved watching my children at Christmas. I try to put an effort into enjoying each day. Time is fleeting so it is a shame to do otherwise.

i look back and think that highschool was the best part of my life (so far, im just fixin to be 26) and really the whole time before i settled down and had a kid. i love my life now and love the things i have and where i am, but i do envy the friends who arent where i am and are having the time of their lives. traveling abroad with no worries or tiedowns, just being single and caring about themselves only and not about anyone else kwim!?

Yeah settling down is awsome. Just when your friends are not in that same boat it is a wierd feeling. My friends as still all going to bars every weekend and just doing what ever they want to do. I have been married for 3 years and with my wife for 7. I am lucky as hell to have met her in my life though. I find it does give it more purpose. I can see what your saying though KLD1019.

Right now is the best time in my life because right now is the only time any of us have. We all have many memories of good times and bad, and it's OK to revisit those memories from time to time - but we can only live now.

Don't know about the rest of the "older" members, but I'm still having fun every day. Reckon it depends on ones definition of "old" and ones attitude toward life.

I strive to keep my mind in a constant state of research and learning - you can never learn too much. The mistake I see most people make is settling into some belief system, and then closing off all other possible realities. That can be any belief - religious, political, economic - whatever. Stay open and keep learning. The faith you hold today will quite likely turn out to be a fary tale tomorrow. If so, let it go, and rock on with your life.:banana2:

The past is gone, the future yet to come - you can plan for it, and prepare for it, but you cannot live in it until it becomes "now". Now is all you have. Get busy being here in the present moment.:nanajig:
