That said, depending on some subjects discussed, I for one did like the fact that the rest of the world can't see it by just clicking onto the thread.

Not being snarky at all, just giving another view on why the sub forum exisited. I believe that the previous owner of the site could of set up the "VIP" area better (for starters, not calling it VIP LOL), but as mentioned, can see the validity of having a sub forum existing that can't be viewed by the general public, or members that just joined and or have minimum posts.

I have to agree. In my opinion, the VIP area was nothing but trouble. Meaning, it caused a huge division and misunderstanding... hence... huge line in the sand.

Example... years ago, there was a discussion about rules and changes, on the open forum. Well, I was a regular (for lack of a better term) member. I stepped in with my suggestions (opinions), and by golly, I was swallowed whole by a few of the blue peeps. :ninja

Once I became blue, and read that section... BAM! It all made sense. (Keep in mind, we had the girls room, which you weren't privvy to, with a lot of activity.)

No where has the new boss said to start pasting its content here....you are just wanting to push to see what you can get away with.
Why not just roll with the flow?....rather than start testing the rules?

Hey JoetheMeek... question for you.

I, like you, didn't post anything personal in the VIP area, but many did. So, with that being said, do you feel like the VIP area (including the underground, member pics, mens room and girls room), should have been wiped from the data base before the forum was sold? I mean, a new owner (no offense Manny030) who wasn't a regular member, or VIP member, (as far as we know) has the privilege of reading some very personal stuff. LOL it makes me kinda quiver for the ones who did post in there. Like the thread you mentioned. :ninja

Actually, for some of my posts, I thought I did post some "personal" stuff there. That said, I'm somewhat of a tin foil hat kind of guy, so I tried to make the personal stuff kind of vague (that said, I don't care if someone knows what kind of mower I bought LOL). Ultimately, no matter where you post on the internet, beware...

But yes, I do agree with you, that area should of been "wiped clean". Wasn't thought out very well. I do however think that the forum grew bigger than the original owner had intended, and with her (the previous owner) having her hands full with family life, things fell through the cracks.

I think i should get VIP status simply for reviving this one year old thread :p

Actually i revived a few old threads while digging around and seeing what people where chatting about in the past. English as a hard language, tarantino favourite films, few others. This is actually a good forum to use as a time capsule. You could see what was hot on the day you were born etc..

Dang, haha. I'm a newbie. It'll take forever to reach that amount, and even then I don't think I have the drive to actively post every day, so if I ever reach it, it will be in a few years.
