What is your Body Mass Index??
In which category do you fall??
Let's see how many of you require to Improve on your Health?:)

''The effects of a diet or exercise program can only be monitored when you have accurate biometric data. This web page will help you calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist-to-Height ratio, percent body fat, and lean body mass. You also get an estimate of your daily calorie and protein requirements based on your level of activity. It is a good idea to record your measurements once per week to keep track of your progress. If you keep the data in a spreadsheet (e.g., MS Excel) you will be able to create charts to see trends more easily. The number of Calories in the foods that we eat and the number of Calories that we use determines whether we will lose weight or gain weight. The extra Calories that we consume are generally stored as fat in our body. To maintain a steady weight, the number of Calories in our food must be equal the number of Calories that we use through exercise, excrete as wastes, body oils, ejaculates, menstrual flow, or use for renewal of skin, hair, nails, and other organ tissues. To lose weight, we must consume fewer Calories than our body needs so that our stored body fat is used to meet a portion our caloric needs. It is advisable to consult with your physician or dietitian before starting any diet, particularly if you take any medications.''

You can take a test here to find out your BMI and related Health condition:)

Body Mass Index: 30.8 kg/m2
Waist-to-Height ratio: 0.58
Percent Body Fat: 39.1%
Lean Body Mass: 112.6 lb

You are overweight by 16.2 kilograms (35.6 pounds)
Minimum caloric requirements: 1821 Calories per day
Limit your food intake to 1547 calories per day.
to lose 2.0 pounds per month.
Your diet should contain at least 74 grams of protein per day.

I guess even after losing 65 pounds I'm still obese. Bummer! And my doctor measured me last time I was there and said I need to get down to 5 pounds less than this. Pretty accurate I guess. Some things I already knew. ;)

*EDIT* I'm not voting because who's to say that the words normal and abnormal really are good descriptive words to be used in this case?

How did you know? And Damn you're about at the perfect BMI!:thumbup

Lol well (this is for metric measurements like metres and kilograms). You divide your weight by your height squared. So for me it's like 1.55 squared = x. Then 49.6/x = 20 or 21-ish. You could probably search the net and see if it's the same for imperial measurements like feet etc.

And thanks :D

Well the one you posted wants neck measurements and my neck is swollen from being ill lol.

I can't imagine my BMI would be that different though. I last did it in June for Psychology.

I would have no idea what my neck measurement is. I guessed about 10cm and it said "Error in neck size" lmao, I should probably do it properly..

I had to guess 10 on that. It's probably smaller. I can wrap my thumb to middle finger with 2 hands around my neck and when I looked at the size I just guessed. :24:

What were your results foras far as how much weight it said you should lose? Do you remember? Was it accurate?

Ok I thought about this and what I have come up with is that most of sociesty falls in the Obese catagory so I'm going to vote on the majority being what's normal. Normal is me. I guess *shrugs*

the BMI is an absolute crock of shit.

It doesn't take muscle vs fat ratio into consideration.

The English rugby team, for example, are totally obese according to the BMI.

They don't look obese to me:
