Yes, What I would do is make an entry thread, with a time limit for entry's .. and then just make a poll thread for the entry's to allow the votes.

I think that would be most fair then people are more willing to vote if they are not Required to say why they prefered the particular poem.

How does that sound? Ok?

I am open to thoughts and suggestions on this.

I have another Idea that I also want to do, But I will wait on that till I see how this goes.

I agree with you, SilentEyz, I think those terms would be the fairest.

A suggestion I was going to make in Feedback was making a change to the forum title to something a little more general, but also something that would make the forum more expansive, "Literature". With a general literature forum you might encourage more traffic with discussions on books, authors, poets etc as well as the current subjects of poster poetry and writings. I know I've had plenty of subjects and whatnot that I have wanted to bring up for discussion/input/opinion, but have had no idea where to post the threads. Just a thought.

I think you should definatly place the idea in the FeedBack forum so that V could see it, The decision to make that Change would Ultimatly be hers.

But it is an excellant Thought.. Or something like Poetry/Literature

Being an Avid Reader I understand what you mean about not having a place to really discuss other Writings beyond poetry.

But please in the meantime Feel free to post anything in here you feel is relavent to Writing or otherwise.

hmm...just an idea about the question random posed...i think one poem per contest would be fair...especially since some of us who would like to compete take a little bit longer to write than others...give everyone a fighting chance on it ...just a thought tho i guess I dont care either way

I might place a time limit on the thread, and then close it to further posts after which a member poll could be created allowing everyone to vote on the works, picking the piece that they enjoyed the most. Likely the "best" work to me, wont be the best for someone else.....which is the way art works, its all subjective to taste and mood.

the thing bout limiting it is that if sum1 is torn between 2 writings and cant decide which to enter, they enter both and take the 1 that got higher votes to use for final judging. like im torn between my poems, "Memory" and "Trapped".

thats another thing...can the poems or writings we enter already be posted on the forum?

as far as I can tell...there would be only one round of judging...where all the members voted on it...I could be wrong tho...also I was rethinking...and imo it would only be fair to enter one per person...if you are torn...then you can just save one for the next round
