Last film you watched

Changeling went out of theatres as soon as me and Katy decided we could afford to see a movie. Lame.

Yesterday I watched:

Werckmeister Harmonies :thumbup
Fucking mind blowing. Long shots (39 in total, in a 145min movie) with amazing usage of music, camera angles, atmosphere, with a smart story. A top 100 movie of all time, easily.

The Promotion :thumbdown
Completely unfunny but still better than Employee of the Month (they have similar plots.) But it tries to be witty and sometimes it works, so hence, a mild non-recommendation.

Zach and Miri Make A Porno :thumbup
Not Smith's best, but still a well written and well acted movie. Funniest movie of the year, at least.

I saw "The day the earth stood still" Saturday night. Was very good, but the little kid in the movie(wil Smiths boy)I wanted to slap for being such a brat.

I have to say I was sort of iffy on whether i like the original black and white one better...but both were good for the times they were done in.

I won't even watch it. The original is the second greatest sci-fi flick ever, and I won't let them capitalize on the cachet of a classic while completely bastardizing it. GET 'EM, GORT!!! lol

Watched Semi-pro last night. One of the few Will Ferrell movies I really liked. It had its holes, but overall, it was really funny IMO

i hate will ferrell. the last one was star wars III (again) at work early this morning.

Righteous Kill.

I wanted to see this for a while, because how could Pacino and DeNiro together be bad? Well, they aren't bad in this. In fact, their acting is one of the only good things about it. The rest is really generic. The story gets too caught up in trying to bring about a big twist, as the expensive of suspense. And you would think that the twist would be a little more emotional but I don't fault Pacino and DeNiro for that because they did what they could with sub-par material. The editing was pretty horrible most of the time, often cramming scenes together that shouldn't go together. Overused, generic music plagues it.

So it's generic and a disappointment, but it's still worth giving a very mild recommendation to for the acting and the fact that it's entertaining enough to warrant an hour and fourty minutes. But this seems like one of those movies that I'll flip back and forth between giving a thumbs up and a thumbs down.
