Im about to watch HARD CANDY

anyone seen it?

It was an okay movie. I didn't like the character Ellen Page played (was a little too smart for her age), but Page played it well anyways.
My girlfriend liked it more than me, which sounds typical but it wasn't because of that scene.

Aw, I think she's a pretty charming actress. But she needs to evolve. Maybe with age, though.

lol We live pretty close to each other. I live in Waterloo.

But I'm from NS, so I lived about an hour drive (yeah I measure distance in hours sometimes, so sue me!) from where she was born.

The Mist- thumbs up, better than I thought it would be. Some excellent critters.

Spoiler Alert----------------------------------------------------------------

If you read the Stephen King story, the ending was interesting and ironic. In the book as I recall, they just drove off into the Mist, fate unknown.

The ending was pretty crippling, I loved that.

The movie itself was pretty good. Not an amazing horror movie, but that, along with movies like 1408 and The Strangers, gives me hope that we'll have more horror movies that are actually scary instead of just showing us as much gore as possible. We need more of a balance.

I watched Wild Strawberries. My LJ opinion on it:
Wild Strawberries (1957) - Old professor is on his way to Lund to accept an honorary degree from Lund University. He is haunted by nightmares, daydreams, old age and impending death so he is forced to re-evaluate his life. Bergman movie. Tragic, didn't cry but was filled with a sadness throughout the entire thing. Some great surreal, haunting moments in dreams. Great acting. At an hour and a half, it didn't overstay its welcome. Wonderful screenplay. The magic is in how Bergman studies loneliness. Good, but not flashy, camera work. Ends on a slightly happier note, with some chilling lines.
Entertainment: 8/10 Artsy Fartsy: 10/10 Total: 9/10
I couldn't find any flaws with it, except for a personal one where it just didn't entertain me enough to give it a 10. The camera work was solid but simple, yet I felt like that was what the movie was going for so it succeeded on that level. The symbols added depth, as well.
