They're yummy! If you don't know, there is a little plastic baby baked into it. Whomever gets the baby in their slice has good luck for the rest of the year.

There is a bakery down in Tampa that makes them. It's been way too long since I've had one. Probably 1992..... I should look for a recipe.....

Several bakeries here make king cakes. Yeah I knew about the prize.
 
:rolleyes: Mardi Gras was too early this year! It's hard to get into it when you are still exhausted from the holidays.

Anyways, I've been hearing the parades all day. I can't wait until it ends in about two hours!

I'm tired of it. Weeks and weeks of parades, balls and the fair. It was fun for the first two weeks, but it is time for it to end.

My liver and my diet need the break.


Oh! and now it's Lent aka "The best seafood" season EVER! So yeah go away Mardi Gras! :cool
 
and as every year on Fat Tuesday, there is The Taste of the Triangle tonight!! my area is called "the golden triangle" and on fat tuesday, local/area restaurants, catering companies, bakeries set up booths with samples of their best menu items. its fun! $20 to get in, all you can eat AND DRINK!! :D
