She has kind of raised the bar, but she's hardly the first to do it. Hell, I was all in to KISS when I was a kid, and they were just as over-the-top outrageous for their day.
She was on 60 Minutes tonight talking about how she views the manipulation of her image and fame as another facet of her art. She has studied pop music marketing as intently as someone with an MBA studies business.
I also can respect that she refuses to let her "show" compromise the music. She sings and plays every note, and if the costumes and dance interfere, she modifies those rather that cheat away and lip synch. THAT is pretty rare these days.
I won't deny that she has talent. I occasionally jam out if it's on the radio. But as far as watching- I just can't get past all the stuff. And I wish she'd wear pants.

I don't mind Lady Gaga. Some of her songs are pretty catchy...like Bad Romance. I like that one.
He songs are catchy, no lie.
I like her outfits in her music video for "Bad Romance".

I think she looks really horrible but one or two of her songs are pretty catchy, it's one of those things I guess. I blame Bryan Alvarez for introducing me to Alejandro, he did an edit on a B&V show a while back which included that song.
Overrated in my opinion. It says a lot when a singer is more well known for the weird things they do rather than their music.
I've completely done a 180 where she's concerned, after seeing her on 60 Minutes. She's not just an "act"... she's actually quite intelligent. :nod:
I agree on that front. I definitely don't find her as artistic as everyone claims she is. I find her a great pop artist though, because her songs are catchy... and that's what pop is. Not deep and meaningful music, just shit lyrics that are sung in a melody that gets stuck in your head lol.
I agree with Hotty, I wish she'd wear pants.
I hate her, but her music is extremely catchy. You might find me jamming out to Telephone, or one of her other nonsense songs. Seriously though, somebody check her brain.

First she was at the VMAs covered in meat. Now she's at the Grammys dressed as an egg. Two more red carpets and Lady Gaga will be a Denny's Grand Slam.
