Ladies...question..

I have PCOS.
It took us almost 4 years to conceive our son... but we did so with NO medical intervention. We started trying for our second when my boy was 6 weeks old. He will be 3 in March, we are still trying :) (Again without intervention)

There are treatments available that assist most PCOS suffers to conceive. You may be put on Glucophage/Metformin... this is a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes, and helps with the effects of PCOS on your insulin levels. You could also be given something like Clomid to force ovulation.

Go have a look at this site SoulCysters.com: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Treatment & Resources
They have a forum, and heaps of info you will find useful.

I have PCOS, very severe...the Metformin doesn't help, so don't bother with it. I've been on it for years. They told me that the only real chance of me getting pregnant was an aggressive treatment of hormones and insulin....but I'm not ready to be pregnant just yet, so I haven't tried it.....but the Metformin does help with the weight gain.

I've heard good and bad things about met. But hopefully it will help me when i decide to diet again. I haven't been officially diagnosed so I am not sure if its PCOS or just a cyst..but I have 85% of the symptoms. We are TTC now and I need to know if it's possible...people tell me I am too young for kids but it's like my body is telling me i need to start now because it might take a long time. It's kind of depressing :(
