I've hand fed wild ones when I was in Australia.

Where we used to go for our holidays was a time share, owned by a friend if mine, at Forster/Tuncurry on the NSW central coast. The place had bar-b-ques that we did most of our cooking on - it also had some of the bravest Kookaburras I have ever seen. If you turned away or went too far away from the barby, they would swoop down & take the sausages straight off the grill. An awesome sight.
