kobe bryant. 8 to 24??

It was not really new. It was from the beginning of regular season. Anyway why did he change his number? I guess that he is trying to beat Michael Jordan's #23.
 
He changed his jersey from #8 to #24 because he wore #24 in high school, and he wanted to wear it, and he said that the #24 signified the start of the second half of his career. It was at the beginning of the year

some say it was a money grab, but he gets no royalties from jersey sales
