Anyway :p

Last Wednesday I was surfing the net when I heard meowing coming from outside. I look out and there is this precious stray cat sitting on the steps of my front door. I went outside, and after an initial shyness, she came to me and let me pet her. Since then she moved into my room, and more importantly into my heart.

I named her Bella. Isn't she pretty? :)

Today I took her to the vet and she got her shots. She is healthy... and pregnant :eek .. was suspecting it tho. Now I am wondering, how big can her litter be? Considering that according to the vet she is 8-9 months old and not fully grown and this being her first litter.

And another thing -- The first few days when I took her in she kneaded almost constantly, but now she rarely does. I thought kneading is a show of happiness and contentment... so why is she kneading less when she is well fed and comfortable as to when she was hungry and out on the street?

... and how come OTz doesn't have a "Pets" sub-forum? :p

Awwwww..... I love your pussy. She is a pretty cat Leah and soon you will have many that may or may not look like her.

Don't worry about the kneading or not business. We have 2 cats... one does it and the other doesn't. The one that doesn't is the attention whore. I wish I could get inside the mind of a cat just once to see how they think.

Anywhoo... it's nice to see you again and I hope all is well.

:) I always wanted a cat, but as a kid was not allowed, and as an adult I thought, why bother now, get one when I have my own home. But Bella just appeared - heaven sent pussycat LoL

I won't be able to keep the kittens tho. I'll have problems keeping Bella happy as it is :( Hopefully I can find them nice homes... I already asked around LoL

The likely father, well I am only guessing it is him, cause he hangs around int he garden ever since Bella moved into my room, is white with orange spots. I'll see by the kittens if he really is the sire :)

*hugs* Glad to see you too :)

Apparently there can be as many fathers as there are kittens. That's why I said they may or may not look like here. Cats are very permiscious.

Aw what a cutie! But seeing as she was so friendly are you sure she doesn't belong to someone?

She was very thin when I found her. Last Wednesday I could've sword she was not pregnant. Then she got a few good meals in her and boom, she started showing. She also had bubble gum in her fur that I had to cut out - I think if she belonged to someone they would've fed her and got the gum out of her fur.

Also she only goes out for 1-2 hours a day for some stretching and to the potty. She is not locked in, the window is always open and she can come and go as she pleases, but she rather stays inside and curl up against me.

I posted the same song Dana :p

Thank you. :)

Well Bella is only 9 months old, and basically still a kitten herself... I am crossing my fingers for 1-2 kittens only... will be easier to find them a home :)
Sorry Leah, I can't view that video. It says it's not available in the USA so thats why i posted a duplicate. :D

Cats have been known to eat their young

Yep. There is a chance of that. Especially with an inexperienced and too young mother like Bella. There are also the chances of still birth, kittens stuck in the womb, genetic defects since she and the likely father(s) are stray... and a chance of inbreeding since there are a dozen or so cats "owned" (read: fed semi regularly) by a family down the street and just a couple minutes ago walked past them and thought Bella was among them - turned out that it was not her, but damn, if there weren't for an extra few brown markings on the other cat's belly it would've been her, down to the eyes.

Anyway, I know the risks, I know many many things that can go wrong. And if you said that for the shock value, SOL darlin' LoL There is not much that can shock or freak out a village girl like me when it comes to animals :p

Beautiful cat! I'm glad you finally get the chance to have one! Pets can be so amazing! They are always there for us and they are great listeners. They never judge us and love us no matter what. You know how hard that is to find in a human companion?!? And you can win money by sending videos to America's Funniest Videos - added bonus!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! Soo cute! =] I like wat u did fr her!

Thank you. :) I am absolutely in love with her. I've been in such a bad spot emotionally lately, been all depressed and she just lifts my spirit and gets me out of my funk. She is adorable - right now she is curled up against me, sleeping, and her cute pink tongue is sticking out. Maximal awww factor :)

*sigh* So since Bella is pregnant I am trying to get her to stay inside more and not roam. For that she needs to learn to use the box inside. Problem is, she is a stray and she just cannot bear to be confided in a room all time. I think she figured out how the indoor kitty poop box works... tho her digging was a little too enthusiastic LoL

last night I didn't let her out at all, and today she was just so agitated. She started scratching on my bed, jumping up onto stuff and making these little pitiful noises. So I let her out less then 30 mins ago - she is already back. So I guess she only wanted to take care of her business in peace LoL

We'll see how this goes, and if I can get her to stay inside at least in the last couple days of her pregnancy.

I thought she would be around 5 weeks along, but if I can see them it's more like 7-8! ... Bella will have her kittens in 1-2 weeks! OMG! I am freaking out a little! ... can you tell ? :p
