King James

The media did that

He had teams come to him rather than going to them like every other free agent out there. His people contacted ESPN for the 1hr special to announce where he was going. He built it up and built it up, when chances are he had made up his mind a while ago... like when he, Wade, and Bosh met together a week or so ago.

I have a feeling there is going to be some more coming out about the negotiations with Cleveland. Gilbert acted like a child but damn that was friggin funny and right on the mark. :D

What really grinds me though and which is going to destroy basketball eventually is the fact things are manipulated and you have 3 guys that will be making a total of just under 300 million dollars. Now that is absurd on its own but add the fact these are guaranteed contracts.

Basketball is going to go down the tubes just like they did before Magic and Bird rejuvenated the league. When you have kids coming out of high school making absurd amounts and it is guaranteed it stinks. Then it drives up the value of the other lesser player contracts.

Contrast this with american football where the average career is only 4 years. And NONE is guaranteed other than a signing bonus

when you have a chance check out the New York Yankees payroll, that's absurd....especially the first nine players

Yes PJ baseball is equally as absurd as basketball

The Tigers have probably eaten close to 100 million in contracts in the last 10 years for guys they either cut from the team or traded but still paid the contract. This year alone I think there is about 30 million they are paying for guys not on the team anymore.

How much did Pavano make when playing for the Yankees and look what they got from him. He was injured but still. It is insane
