That was interesting. Turn on desktop computer, during boot up it makes a beeping noise. I turn to the screen which is black with white text "Keyboard failure". I tap spacebar computer continues to load. All seems well later as I am using it, it locks up mouse won't move nothing. turn off power. Sequence as previous, wash rinse repeat. I grab spare keyboard hook it up and re-boot. Computer seems to be working now. Note to self about 10 years is all the life one can expect from a keyboard evidently.:tooth

Keyboards usually can last a good 3 to 4 years if you treat them right.. Obviously Fred you are very easy on them as 10 years is really pushing the limit on a keyboard. Once the keys stick they will cause a Windows Freeze ( Blue Screen of Death ) or all types of error codes..

While I am much like you and easy on my computer parts my ex wife used to kill a keyboard every 6 months.. I got her the indestructible keyboard which she managed to kill in 8 months..

Hopefully the computer is not 10 years old as well.. :24:
