–noun a participant in a bowling game, as candlepins or tenpins.

Anyone else here like to bowl or talk about bowling?
I am considering adding a new ball to my collection since I have not purchased a new high performance ball in about 3 years. Technology keeps changing.

I've never gotten heavy into it, always for fun. I don't get to play that often, I've never took time to learn any skill, I find it tricky to actually aim with both arms being hyper extensive. Amara's at the age I could start taking her though. We bought her a palstic bowling set for Christmas and she likes playing with it, she has about as much skill as I do.

I did find something you should wear to bowl.

They do bumpers for kids now which makes it far less frustrating for little ones than when I started. With the bumpers the ball cannot go into the gutter until close to the end of the lane.

15 pound ball. I add that to my other 7. All are 15 pound balls. Trying newest technology so I am excited.

This ball has a more reactive coverstock when it contacts the pins and the block inside really gives a big break on the end. I am looking for a stronger breaking ball to help where I am leaving a lot of corner pins...the 7 and the 10.

Ah I see. I leave the 7 and 10 quite often but I'm not a very good bowler. I'm lucky if I break 170's on a very good day.

I finished this past season with a 187 average. 3 or 4 years ago my average was in the 170's.
By the way splits are much more common with lighter balls thrown straight.

That's how I throw them. I have never been able to get the knack of curving the ball in. I just can't for some reason. :(

Based on your description of leaving the 7-10 split often you are probably hitting the headpin square. You need a glancing blow to the headpin to allow it to carry one corner and the rest of your pin action will take out the other corner. Think of it like a bank shot on a pool table.
