Not surprising, it's been happening in the USA for years. No different to kids being indoctrinated into worshiping god at school from a young age.

WTF is the big deal?
I think they are being indoctrinated like we all are in school to conform to sociatel expectations.
They are praising the President of the United States of America, not learning how to make bombs.

umm...poopa...in my years of schooling, private and that breif stint in public...i never said a pledge to an actuall person or sang devotion to one either,...that kinda sounds like what they are doing...but i really cant make out all of the words.

if they were singing a pledge to help America or the United States i dont think anyone would have a problem with it ( if they did they should move to another country)...but they keep saying barrack hussein obama like mindless zombie drones, and thats what i think people have a problem with.

what was the last line about being equal in his sight?......doesnt that sound like "jesus loves the little children"?

if B.H.O. (sounds like a band name) can get this country back on track politicaly and economicaly and without making us the "pussies of the world" ...i'll back him 1000%, but so far i havent seen it or heard it from the telepromptor...all im seeing and hearing are more tax dollars coming out of my wallet and going to people who dont neccesarily need it or deserve it

Huh? That doesn't happen in public schools.

Dont kids at school in the USA still have to do this pledge?

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pledge_of_Allegiance#cite_note-Pledge-0

I think it happens in the UK though, right Peter?

Yes, probably, more in Catholic or Jewish schools ect I would imagine than state comprehensives though. When I was at school, R.E. was more about teaching what different religions believed than telling you they were right or wrong.

I really wouldn't call that worshiping god. The vast majority of kids don't even pay attention during the pledge anyways. I'm for getting it out of the pledge, though.

Its forcing them to say they believe in him. Anyway, my point was, I'm not agreeing that what the kids are having to do in the video is right, just that in one form or another it's been happening for years so why get all shocked and offended now?

No its not. You don't even have to say the pledge of allegiance.

Another religious nutjob who cant hack that people shouldn't be forced to believe in god, nothing to see here.

Actually Red was an awesome comedian who had a spiritual & patriotic side and chose to share it in a time before political correctness.

He was still saying that the pledge of allegence should force people to say they believe in god, I find that a complete contradiction of the freedom of speech that the USA is supposed to stand for.

Did you see the date on that broadcast? That was first broadcast in 1969. I was in school back then and we had the pledge of allegiance, the national anthem, and a devotional every morning before school. High schoolers were allowed to smoke in designated areas and many of us had guns in our cars and trucks. Not for killing others but for going hunting before or after school. No one would have considered taking another person's life. Times have certainly changed.

Did he say the kids should be forced to recite it or that they should understand what it meant and it would be a shame if it was considered to be a prayer.
