Just my fucking luck

I booked my flights to and from Boston last week. I fly out on the 17th of January and back in on the 24th. As I was walking in to work today our secretary told me "I put 2 subpoenas in your box...1 for you and 1 for Rebekah." I knew, w/o even looking, that it was going to be for the 17th. Sure enough...it is.

I'm going to call the DA's office tomorrow and see if they can postpone. If not, I'm hoping they can excuse me from the witness list.

In 11 years I've been subpoenaed MAYBE a dozen times. I have YET to have to actually testify. I'm hoping this will be one of those times again.

Ugh...finally got the Solicitor's Office only to be told "you need to call the judge's office." Apparently they're in court...so now I wait for a call back.

Waiting patiently is NOT my strong suite...IJS
