Just gave up my three pack a week habit.

You faked me out, I was just going to say "Come over here and give me a big, non-smoky kiss" :p

but, congratulations anyways - I'm in New Jersey and the only thing that Bloomie did that was of any worth was ban smoking in New York bars and restaurants - Jersey soon followed suit - :)

I hate smoking :yuk

Wow, here in Germany is no-smoking standard in mostly all public places. It came up around 2009 and spread step by step through Germany.

As I stopped smoking in 2007 (I had been a very stron smoker - one packet a day, sometimes more), I was very happy about this no-smoking law. Can't smoke anymore.

OMG i am sorry to hear that :p

Next up they will ban smoking in your own home. Just a matter of time as they will say it is to save the kids.

Only time 2nd hand smoke bothered me was in a bar sitting at a table where a lot were smoking.

They have not allowed smoking in businesses here for a while and then recently eliminated from bars. With the exemption that the casinos can allow it. If it was all about protecting the public then tell me why the casino gets an exemption?

Just more public control. Open a no smoking bowling alley or bar. Or pressure an establishment to self regulate but get the damn govt out of every aspect of our lives.

End of rant

Glad you are happy though Fred. I know there are some that are effected more than others.

And for the record I have never been a regular smoker. I used to like a cigar maybe once a month but been a couple years since I have had one. I don't count the rare toke of pot. Besides I can vaporize that if I want to. And I smoke it outside the very few times I do partake so as not to stink up the house with it. :D

Here several years ago the city required all businesses which serve food had to declare smoking or non-smoking. The bowling lanes chose smoking because it also has a bar. In the last few years the lanes have missed hosting several tournaments and religious group functions because of their smoking status. I am one of those people who have trouble breathing the night after and the next day after bowling.
