"Judging" People - People Watching

I say "judging" because the act of judging is always presumed to be negative.

What I am about to talk about is not, as I see it, negative.

Whenever I see people in traffic or wherever, I people watch. I'm not rude and I don't glare. I'm not mean about my observations, etc. I just try to guess what kind of person they are.

For instance, I saw a red pick up truck, shiny but not brand new with nice rims, but with this thing on the back windshield:

And a Garmin turned on attached to the windshield and a radar detector turned on connected to the dash. Oh and the license plates were from here - dealer decals on the truck.

So....I thought it would be some punk or really weird mix of ghetto Cowboy, and it was an older white male wearing a members only jacket.

:24: yeah like WTF?

Do any of yall do this? I do it daily and try and guess who these people are and where they are from. I have actually gotten really good at it.

I do a version of that. Like I see all these people on the road and wonder how they are, where they're driving, if that day is important to them and will stick out in their memory for years to come. I used to try to figure out what types of people are driving based on the car.

I'm guilty of 'people watching' from time to time but I don't go to the extent of wondering where there from, what they do, what kind of car they drive, if they're bat-shit insane, etc. I just give them a brief once-over and move on to the next person.

I tend to do that at the park at times, but it is not judgement. Mere observation and thoughts of what that person may be like in real life in a sense. I find it rather fun to do because it helps train your senses at times. In my case, I love to observe the things in their possession. A drink, how they hold a cigarette, and which hand they use the most. Eventually it all becomes routine and one can start to time events in the day. Boredom? No. Simply observing my surroundings. You never know when all of this "useless" observation can come in handy one day. That is just he unusual me of course.

I love watching people. Judging? I suppose but I just find them interesting and also the things people are willing to talk about on the cell phone in front of everyone, like in an airport, on a bus or in a store, it's like I wouldn't discuss these things where everyone can hear do they think because they are a on a phone that gives them privacy?

Also, I hate the hidden phones, someone will say something in a store looking at me and I go Huh? and they look at u like I'm on the phone dummy, hey if I don't see a phone I presume if you are sane and looking at me and say something u expect me to pay attention.....

usually they're wearing a blue tooth of earphones... i think those would be hard to miss lol

I love people-watching. I even do it on the forum. You learn al lot about people when you just watch how they go about their business.

In restaurants and the like, I also play the "what are they doing/about etc" game... I know that even the most ordinary looking person could be really interesting underneath... still waters and all that.

:D:D:D:D:D

I enjoy people-watching..... as long as I know they don't know I'm doing it. :D

Like.... If I see a really hot guy.... I'll really check him out... I wear mirror sunglasses. You cannot see my eyes. Therefore.... I can pretend to look elsewhere and actually be looking at someone. I am very sly at times. :cool

Unfortunately.... I can be judgmental too at times. I'll say things to myself.... never out loud or to the person(s) I'm with..... like....

"Did you even look in the mirror before you left the house?"

"Can you get that in any smaller of a size?" (Usually when the clothing they are wearing is looking like the seams are about to bust!)

"Pffffftttt..... Like those colors go together!"

I've been with friends though out shopping.... and we all have been known to bump the other's arm and force them to look at whatever person we just can't believe looks like whatever they look like that is attracting loads of attention.... negative or positive. *shrugs*
