Wow. I sometimes would be tempted to join one if they were offering mustard for my hotdog. It depends, though, on what kind of mustard

I could not become a member of a cult. Being open to these types of groups takes a few different characteristics in a person. A weak mind, an excessive desire to belong, feelings of being an outcast and finding acceptance in a cult environment, lack of self-identity...and the list goes on. You don't have to possess all of these qualities, but at least a few, and that is why I couldn't be a part of one. I am way too sure of myself and who I am to allow myself to be sucked into this type of thing.

I can never join a cult. Why would I want to be brain washed into a Zombie(No not the cool zombies that eat people.) Plus Cults take away you're rights. So another reason why I woulden't join. Also, some cults are some freaky sexual people. Like they force you to do sexual actions. But not like normal ones. Like the freaky kind. Plus joining a cult is a sign of insercuirty, and like iced said. Wanting to belong. Plus if you ever saw family guy when Meg joins a cult. They end up killing themselfs. Thats another reason why I woulden't join. If you're in a cult you're the cult leader's property basiclly.

That's my rant on cults.

This describes me to a tee, except you left off "ruggedly handsome with lovely curly hair"

I need to find me a cult that believes in HD and home theaters, though

I read "Atlas Shrugged" over vacation, and it really spoke to me. I could never become an objectivist, but it was such a compelling read that the day I finished it, I ran out and bought "The Fountainhead".

For many they are obviously most susectable (sp) when they are going through weak points in their life, They become like victims because they are taking unwillingly, Someone sees those weaknesses and targets them, Uses them against the person in a way to capture their trust. Many see hope when they become part of a cult, and are blinded to the truth of things around them.

It is actually easier then we believe to fall victim to such things.

This is entirely correct in most cases .. the other cases are those people who wish to control people and band together under false pretenses (usually the creators of the cult).

I don't think most people think they are actually joining a cult until they are already deep into it, once in .. it's hard to get out .. and many are so brainwashed they don't want out. They risk losing everything again .. friends, family, money, jobs .. and that scares them into submission, and remaining in the cult.

It's usually those who are in need of something, especially family and bonding.
