Not much Darrell. How are you? I have a recurring problem you might be able to help me with.... Sometimes when I boot my laptop at the office, all but one network drive reconnects. Today, I had to reboot it 4 times to get that drive to connect... granted..., my laptop is six years old and has a few quirks these days...

I'm well, thanks for asking. :D

and

Unfortunately, that's a little outside of my realm of expertise. I'm a software guy, not as much a hardware guy (no homo). The best guy to ask would probably be Nic (Retro). He may be able to give you some insight. Network drives should mount properly to your laptop if they are mapped. Did anyone else have any problems?

They are mapped, and no, one else had any issues as far as I know. There are only 2 other laptops in this building and the other two are MUCH newer than mine too... I get BSOD's regularly that are connected to the antivirus... It's something I have dealt with for YEARS and have just come to live with.

If your laptop is a PC, and is six years old, it's probably a good time for your company to replace it. Especially if they want you to be able to do your job on time, and not be 45 mins behind schedule because they gave you a dinosaur for a work station.

Yeah..., our tech guy has told them this about 8 times in the last six months. Most recently when a windows update started making it take 15 MINUTES to open a spread sheet from the server. My bosses newer laptop had the same issue. They never could fix it.... but low and behold, last weeks windows update improved it a TON. Fucking weird...

Windows sucks. That's not just from a Mac nerd standpoint. Aside from Windows 7 which is okay, Microsoft makes a shit OS.
