i have so much respect for Joe Paterno that if i found he knew but said nothing i would be crushed

This is the problem I have with Paterno..

Pennsylvania state police commissioner Frank Noonan said Monday in Harrisburg that Paterno fulfilled his legal requirement when he relayed to university administrators that a graduate assistant had seen Sandusky attacking a young boy in the team's locker room shower in 2002. But the commissioner also questioned whether Paterno had a moral responsibility to do more.

Joe Paterno knew about the sexual abuse in 2002 and all he did was alert the university administrators then wash his hands of it. Joe KNEW that this man still had access to these kids.
Joe needs to resign today, he disgusts me alone with everyone else involved....

Paterno is toast. He will not coach another game. The pressure will be too great. The question is whether he will step down or get canned. Given his inability to give up coaching before now this could get ugly.

Fuck him... just take away his walker and handicap parking spot and the rest will take care of itself.

The heat football coach is one of many who may of let many young people down.

I'm in no way defending Joe Paterno, but does anyone know EXACTLY what was told to him (Paterno) in 2002? I'm wondering why the person who apparently saw the sexual activity first hand (who reported it to Joe Paterno) didn't follow up on it himself when he saw no action was being taken,

I have a buddy who is a professor there, and the impression I get is Joe Paterno is one of MANY people who will get their walking papers.

The two who just turned themselves in were actually alumni.

I think it is another example of where somebody places their morals off to the side out of fear of repercussions. Sandusky was just as reknown as Paterno at the time. If I am not mistaken he was expected to be the next head coach assuming Paterno would have retired at a normal age.

Not that I blame the assistant. I do however blame Paterno and Penn State

It is sickening for them to not follow up further. Shit they almost make the Catholic Church look like angels. At least the church most of the times move the pervert out of the parish. PS did nothing.

and JoePa has been fired by Penn State now.

The right move. Sad end to his career, but it's looking more and more likely that he knew for more than a decade that he had a predator in his midst, and still allowed him access to young boys under Penn State's authority. This will be very ugly, and lots of people are going to be destroyed in the process. Karma is a bitch.
