This thought occured to me. Does it have to do with your gender or is it all based on your personality. god damnit i hate being jealous. Im a very Jealous person when it comes to woman. There is this girl i have been talking to and shes just awesome. But has a boyfriend. she talks to me all day on MSN and occasionally mentions how shes so horny. I just get jealous of her boyfriend. I dont really know him so i cant say he doesnt deserve her. but god damnit. it was driving me crazy i pretty much told her that i couldnt talk about sex anymore and that i have to work. Out of every feeling there is i hate jealousy the most. It eats away at me. There are so many douchbags out there that get really great girls, and then treat em like shit. Im jealous that those guys even get the chance.

Do you think Jealousy is more likely with men or woman? or is it just about your personality?

Jealousy can happen as equally with both males & females.

It's not so much yr personality I think, as more yr insecurities about certain things - cld be frm fear of losing someone due to something that cld have happened when you were really young, or through an ex dumping you before, having betrayed you.

Perhaps a small part of it is yr personality too, but there is a line not to cross with it - if ppl go over that line where the jealousy is extreme, then maybe there's something there, to do with the personality side.

It all depends how ppl handle it really. If they can't control it, there is something that seriously needs looking into for a number of ppl's sakes and reasons.

Hope it doesn't get to you too much. I bet you will find someone soon enough. Remember too, that it's one thing being able to talk sex on the internet, but face to face when not met before, wld more than likely be completely different. There are screens between you right now, so she probably feels secure to be able to talk like that. Sometimes ppl do the talk, but not the walk (as the old cliche wld go).

Hope you work through it in the end. :)

I personally would have to say guys get more jealous than women. I know a few guys that get that way. I personally don't get jealous because I am not like that. I have a lot of trust for my wife and she has a lot of trust for me. Even when we were dating we would go out to separate places and I would meet up with guys and gals and she would do the same.

I wouldn't say there's more males than females, but yeah, as you say S, jealousy is a very hard thing to control and have to live with. it does cause a lot of anguish and very dark moments fro some ppl.

If jealousy is there too much, it cld be considered that a person is actually not jealous, but controlling.

Luckily, it doesn't happen to all.

Glad you feel a bit better anyway & hope you find someone you can like just as much. :);)

I'm not a jealous person. But if my husband is talking to someone that is prettier than me, I get a little jealous deep down inside...but I try not to let it bother me that much. Just every once in awhile I get my insecurities like everyone else, and get scared that he may leave me one day and decide to run off with someone else. But I snap back to reality and know he loves me too much :)

Yeah, that's true, it does happen that if ppl think someone their partner's talking to is prettier than them or more confident than them, there can be a bit of jealousy.

Some are lucky to not ever get those feelings. I don't, but that's not just due to the fact I trust him, it's also to do with the fact that when you get to a certain age (as I am :eek:D), things in life don't seem so necessary to worry over anymore I think. Especially when there's too much else to see to. I've had a cpl of moments where I thought he may be looking in another direction, but where the women involved weren't even aware he thought it, but was Ok about it once I sorted it out with him, cos it was in his head only. :)

I think jealously is pretty common amongst both sexes , don't think I could really call it one way or the other over who it affects the most. I really hate jealousy though, seriously, if you can be in a relationship where there is no jealousy on either side, you're over half way to a perfect relationship in my opinion.

i dont think its gender based. I do think that men and women have different ways of dealing/coping with jealousy. Men tend to try to start fights or play the "who's dick is bigger" game. Women are catty and passive aggressive.
