I thought Nicholson did a good job playing a tough guy in the military in one of his movies years ago.

It was the movie where he said "You can't handle the truth!!"

I never thought of Nicholson as a tough guy. But he did a good job playing one in that one movie.

According to the Academy, Jack Nicholson. He has two best actor Oscars, and one for best supporting actor. :)

Personally, I have enjoyed Jack's roles over Hoffman, but they are both very good actors.

But I maintain that Hoffman was completely robbed when he didn't win for Tootsie.

Personally, I think that Hoffman is the better actor of the two. But it really comes down to personal preference.

Both are great but I got to go with Hoffman. Lenny, All the Presidents Men, Agatha, Kramer vs Kramer, Tootsie, Rain Man, John and Mary, Little Big Man, The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, Marathon Man, Wag the Dog and so on. Brilliant actor.

Lenny was my favorite of his.

Nicholon has delivered some great lines over the years. I just contend in most roles he is just playing Jack.
