I've (sort of) got an interview!

I'm looking for a job since I got made redundant from a job which I now realise was probably the worst thing that ever happened to me, and I applied for one as a Studio Assistant a couple of days ago.

You never get responses from people these days unless they want to see you so I wasn't really expecting to hear anything but I got an email today asking me to come to a group interview next Thursday!

Then I got a call from a dental clinic I applied to literally months ago asking me to interview for them as well :rolleyes:

I really don't want to go back into dentistry. If it's all I get offered then fine, I need a job, but damn I'd rather have the Studio Assistant position! It's for a company that mainly do portraits and a lot of it is working with kids. I wouldn't actually be taking pictures but from the website it looks like career progression is entirely possible, and I'd like that a lot more than working for another freaking dental clinic.

Congratz, but by the laws of the universe you'll end up at the dentist's office.

Can't tell you how many times I've gone on two interviews, really wanted one and will settle on the other and get the latter.

Such is life. Beats being on the dole queue as they say. :)

That's what I'm expecting :( I would love the studio job, it's also in walking distance of my house whereas the dental clinic is a walk, a bus journey and another walk.

Still, I just found out a girl I went to school with is the only current employee in the branch I'm applying for with this studio thing! And she's giving me some tips on what they're looking for, so hopefully that'll help :p
