I still have a 4.0 GPA .. I think I'm doing ok in the smarts/knowledge department .. despite my online class taking.

But see, I'm not impressed by that since you are taking classes online and we all know how online classes are easier.

But still, congrats, a 4.0 is hard to come by either way.

haha 'real' job...didn't know you needed an education for a 'real' job

Ok, one that doesn't pay on an hourly basis. A blue collar job is great, we all need cars, fastfood and shoes, but the "real" jobs are the ones of those that are educated.

I have a real job.. One that saves lives and I didnt need a degree for it.

Secondly, I believe that online classes are just as hard.. BUT.. You can cheat on the tests. lol ;)

My online classes have not been easier. In fact they were harder because I felt like I was having to teach myself in order to get an A.

That is total horsecrap. All jobs are real jobs.

Everyone that has a job, whether it is shoveling crap or being President, guess what - they have a REAL job.

The retired greeter at Wal-Mart has a real job.
The teenager at McDonald's has a real job.
The person that delivers flowers because they enjoy seeing people smile, guess what ... REAL JOB.

There are plenty of jobs that require degrees that don't get paid any more than or even less than people that don't have degrees. You don't have to have a college education to get a 'real' job.

All jobs are 'real' jobs.

Yeah, they're SOooo easy .. compared to the same material being taught IN the class. We have the same books and the same Syllabus .. just don't have to come to a physical class.

Online classes take effort on a person's part to not just goof off .. but to actually sit down and do the work .. without someone telling them to do it. It takes more will power to stop watchign tv or posting online and do your homework than it does to hop in the car and go to class. Many people fail online classes because they are lazy.

You also have a mandatory group projects in online classes (that you don't have IRL classes) added to your work load. You also have to make a post in the discussion forum, and respond to at least 2 other classmates (your score get sbetter attendance wise if you respond to more) .. you don't have to do that IRL classes. You can sit there and never say a word to another classmate.

Online classes are in no way less educational than IRL classes .. they just mean you have to actually READ the material instead of sitting there listening to the teacher speak it. The teacher is giving you the same information in an IRL class that you should be reading yourself anyways (but usually don't).

Didn't I read somewhere that 3/4 of the crap I say on here is total horse-shit?

If I stung you, I apologize. What I meant to say is the "REAL GOOD PAYING JOBS". Sure there are exceptions, like the guy who works OT and makes 60k a year. Go ahead, pile on the stories of those that don't have a high school education that are so rich it would make your head spin. I guarantee that if you ask any one of them if they had to do their lives over, they would tell you they would have received more education. The world is an ever changing place. You can't live off $10 an hour and send your kids to college. Heck, I don't even know how anyone with a family of 4 can survive making $40K unless you are in some rural area or something.

Maybe you should go back to school ;)

I know all of you would agree that hourly wage jobs suck so don't argue otherwise. If you need to take off 2 hours to take your kid to the dentist, you lose money.

Nothing will stop you Vs. And if they do just call up Bacon and have him shoot the naysayers. Better to try to get more for you and your children than to just sit there and work two jobs. I know how you feel on that portion of whats going on.

I would just like to say that my husband didn't even graduate high school, and he has a "real" job. One that probably pays more than you make AV. And his education level is irrelevant because he is one of the smartest men I know...and I would also say that his job is only for "the educated".

Hourly > Salary.

I was salaried for 40 hours a week on one of my old jobs 3 years ago. it was supposed to be for 9.60 or whatever for 40 hours. I ended up working it 48-55 hours a week, which is what? 7 bucks an hour, getting that 430 something dollar paycheck every two weeks sucked.

If I got paid hourly, I would have been making some mad money. If I could afford college I wouldn't have to worry about that. However, I have minimal college and I make fairly decent money in a small company. If I was doing the same job for a larger company, I'd obviously make more.

I'm with James. I wish I was getting paid hourly when I was working 100+ hours a week for an entire year.

I would gladly take my salaried job any day over an hourly one. Sure there are weeks when I work more than 40 hours per week, but then there are plenty more where I don't. Also, taking the afternoon off paid is grand indeed. I guess it all depends on what you do and where you work.

Well, then he must make 6 figures because thats what I make. But I knew there would be at least one who would give me an example, if you read my post you would have seen that I wrote there are always exceptions to any rule.

well i guess your shit just doesn't stink then huh? You must be better than all of us because you make 6 figs and get paid salary and went to college. Some people do not equate money with the quality of their life.
