Ive got some sad news from Veronica today

I'm still praying for her, V. And it's great that she has the strong, loving, positive support from her children; she knows she is loved alot and not alone.

She knows. I just hope she handles the information well. She is putting on a brave face.. but the person that shot her.... it is alittle unreal.

I can't imagine what you are going through right now, other than an extremely painful time that must be hellish for you all.

I am glad yr mum knows who it was, that should speed things up a bit to get whoever's responsible for it, put away I hope.

They cancelled surgery for today. They will do it after the weekend. She was in good spirits till last night. I had to tell her who did it and why yesterday morning. They haven't released this information yet, but a 10 year old boy did it. He has had a lot of mental issues. My mom had been caring for him. I can not say wether it was intentional or accidental, due to the final parts of the investigation. Although I do know the answer to that, I just can't say. My mom is a wreck it really hit her about 2am last night. She wanted to know WHY!! She cried herself to sleep. I wasnt there for that. My sister Val was there with her last night. They sent me and Lani home to sleep. We were very tired. It just breaks my heart to see my mom like this. She is just like me. You don't let people see what is going on inside of you. You put up a strong front till you cant take it anymore. I have requested her a psycologist. Hopefully he will be in today. My mom is all of her kids world. We all worry about her all the time.

After she started freaking out, the docs came in and said it would be better because of her condition that we wait until mon or tue for the surgery. This is a really hard time for her.... She keeps asking over and over, "why?"

Oh, this just chokes me up more and more V.

A ten yr old with a gun! That is just beyond anything I can comprehend, even though guns are used too much here now and will just escalate too.

The severity of what yr mum's just gone through has just hit her then, hence her reaction and how she is right now.

Then needing to wait for surgery cos she just isn't up to it, through the very fault of the person who did that to her, is horrendous.

I hope they get her someone to speak to sharpish.

Even the strongest of us have to release inner feelings in the end. She needs to let it out to start her process of recovery, although it will always stay with her. It's in time, with the right support that it won't agonize her as much as it is now and will do for a while yet.

Mom got out of surgery #2 and it went as expected. They werent able to remove her bad eye, so they are gonna have to do surgery #3 mon or tue. They fixed the broken/shattered bones that were in her face and nose. She is in so much pain. I hate seeing her like that. She is crying alot right now and we dont know the right things to say.. We have even tried taking her to imaginary trips.. LOL Its not working very well. But, Im hoping that she will come out of this with good spirits. Right now she just keeps wanting to know "why?" just like the rest of us....

So they decided after all to do some surgery after all today.

It will be so so difficult for yr mum to start distracting herself with other thoughts just yet I suppose, because the pain is there too much to remind her she has been so cruelly, badly damaged.

You can only try what you think is right at the time and it sounds as though you are doing all you can. You are there for her and that is the best thing for her. She will, I am sure, be very comforted knowing she's not alone and has her children there for her.

She must be having the most awful flashbacks and with the really strong pain she is dealing with too, it will drag her down.

I think time will only be able to heal your mom V. I came very close to losing my mother once, and nothing but time could cheer her up. I think there will be a long road ahead for you and her. But you all can do this. You and your family seem to be so close... if you all stick together, as you have been, you and her can make it thru this.

We're all thinking and praying (if thats what we believe) for her! I actually googled for it and saw the report and also the comments. Veronica, you answered with dignity and all your family can hold their heads up proud unlike those scummy little c***ts on there, dont bother replying to them, they are sad scum and the people who know you all know what you and your family are going through and dont believe any of their baseless nasty crap. Trust me, if anyone had said those things in hearing distance of me they would be in a lot worse state than your mum!:mad Seriously pissed me off that they could be so nasty!:mad Dont worry about the chaplin, God dosent work through pious people he works through genuine good and nice ones so I'm sure if he's around he wont find anyone nicer and more deserving than you, your mum and your family!
