so i've been thinking about moving out of AZ, actually correct that
i'm going to move out of Arizona. I've hated it here for years
now. I've given myself a two year time line to get my ducks in a
row and get a substantial amount savings. I've got it narrowed down
to three states and wanted some opinions on what you all thought.
1) Montana~ my mom lives up there and it's absolutely beautiful
2) Texas~ again i've got some family up there and everyone tells
me Austin would probably be my type of town ( i have know idea
what people mean by this, but every time i mention Tx someone says
that) Also my tattoo artist lives up there and i'm tired of
looking like a coloring book
3)Oregan~ within the next three years 4 different people i know and hold
dearly to me will be moving up there.

I want to live in a place that actually has seasons and less freaking
people. these are all place i've thought about for years and the timing
seems to work well. any thought will be greatly appreciated.

I think that decision will have be one you will have to make, but I can tell you this, through my own experiences moving to another state wasn't what I thought it was going to be. So I moved home to Arizona again and I am staying put.

i know that ultimately it's my decision and almost everyone i know who's moved out of this state has moved back. i really don't care where i end up. those were just some places i've thought about. what i'll probably end up doing is throwing darts at a map. where they land i'll go.:)

You would definitely fit into Austin. It is a mecca for alternative lifestyle (no i dont mean BDSM and shit), and the most liberal city in the country probably. It is beautiful and full of tatted up people, and nonjudgemental people. We might be moving there in a year. Oh also it is the Independent Music capital of the world. I totally think you'd love it there...if you want to come visit first let me know and I live about 2.5 hours away, I can come show you around there! :D OH Not to mention 6th street...its a street full of bars/clubs of all sorts (not like top 40 shit, more indie/metal/rock type places with live bands and shit) and every weekend they block off the streets and people just go door to door. OH man and I didn't mention the food there..yumm...and it's also 30 minutes from New Braunfels, the BEST place to go river tubing in the country...and Schlitterbahn the best waterpark in the world (according to the travel channel, im not making this shit up!)

yeah it is. its a bit crowded nowadays since they did that special ont eh travel channel and it got #1 on the top waterparks in the world...but...its still AWESOME...and they serve alcohol inside how cool is that? i love swimming up to a bar, its the coolest feeling in the world! Yeah the hill country in TX is the shit. You got austin, then 20 min away is the outlet malls in san marcos...THE biggest outlet center in the country...they have EVERY store you can imagine..then 10 mins away from taht is new braunfels with schlitterbahn and 2 rivers you can tube down...then 20 mins away from that is San Antonio. So you got your city, and you got your country. man I cant wait to live around there one day!

I've gone thru this decision for about 2 years. Being from NJ, and wanting to get out. We wanted to get away from the East coast and all of the problems that comes with it. So we had every state opened and shot down a lot of them due to hurricanes and weather, etc. Texas was an option for us too, but from what I have seen of TX it was mostly flat. John was born in TX and has lived there for 19 years. (He grew up in Tyler and Troy TX.) So we chose TN...and we are extremely happy here... so far! We did a LOT of research before jumping into it... and I think we made a good choice. Even if TN didnt work out, I would never move back to my home state. There is just nothing there that interests me!

no prob! And Suzie, parts of Texas are really flat...but the hill country is beautiful..I'd say of all the states Texas has the most diverse landscape and weather...up north it gets really cold, down south is really hot, we have beaches, oceans, lakes, rivers, hills, i think mountains, and plains. It's hard to put texas into a category!
