.... when you spend a few hours trying to get a decent shot and you fail.
We have a pair of hummingbirds that are obviously feeding some young because they are constantly at the feeder from just after 5am to just before 9 pm. One of the problems is they will not approach the feeder if they know a human is lurking about so I have my gear set up in the house and shoot through the window. I was tempted to move the feeder to a better location until today. When I removed it to give it a cleaning and refill the pair was going nuts looking for it. I want to see the young fighting over the feeder after they start zipping around so I'll leave well enough alone.
I didn't have anything in my favor today and out of about 40 shots these were the best of the worst. I'll keep trying though.
I left the feeder in the shot to give you an idea how small they are.


This could have been nice but even at 1/1600 sec it wasn't fast enough to get him.
