Is Your Favorite Team Winning Going To Make Your Life Any Better?

There's nothing wrong with enjoying yourself as you root for your favorite sports team. But some people are way too passionate about it.

I know that your favorite team losing a big game or losing a serious of consecutive games isn't much fun. However, if your team does win, is it really going to make your life much better? I'm a big fan of the New England Patriots. And when they won three Super Bowls last decade, sure I was glad. But it didn't make my life much easier overall. I don't look back on those years as being any better because the Pats became an NFL dynasty.

So to others who take rooting for your team too far, I'll bet you'll find being a fan to be more enjoyable overall if you keep being a fan in prospective instead. It's not the end of the world if your team doesn't succeed!

:gives:

:p :p The way someone follows a team is fairly related to their personality, and the result is something not easily altered. While getting greatly upset over a loss may be damaging and foolish to you, it may serve a purpose of remaining authentic to someone else.

I can certainly see the players of the team feeling awful after losing a big game. But the fans? Sorry, if a fan is devastated over their favorite team losing, then that fan needs to re-evaluate his or her way of thinking (although it's different if the fan is a relative or a good friend of one of the players or coaches).

Fun is subjective. It's not black and white. Regardless of what you think is fun, others may not, and vice versa.

And this is why I say

:gives:

This is such a trivial "I don't understand why"...social phenomenon to dissect. I'm more worried about people who rape and set people on fire than someone who gets crushed when Tom Brady throws a duck.

In your opinion. Personality, emotions, likes or dislikes, etc., are all subjective. What you see as pathetic other people see as normal, and vice versa. I find the fairweather and bandwagon fans to be pathetic, but that's what some people prefer to do. I get excited when my teams win; and when they lose, life goes on. That's not to say that I enjoy watching my team lose... and I'll rant and rave at the TV or if I'm at the game, but once it's over with, I'm sad about it for a little while, and then I move on with my life.

It's not a black and white issue... like a lot of things in this world.

you are just out to be a negative to arent you

Negative? He stated a fact... it isn't black and white, and what some people view as fun, other people don't. I have fun watching my favorite sports teams play... you may have fun going out into the woods for 12 hours and hunting deer. That doesn't mean that I'm right and you're wrong, it just means that we enjoy different things.
